I've had this rig for 2 months but I just wanted to know if there's anything I could be doing better

GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 770 TwinFrozr (IV) 2043mb (2GB) GDDR5 Video RAM (I've also OC'd this card)

CPU: Intel Haswell Core i5-4607k @ 3.4GHz (4 cores)

CPU cooler: XIGMATEK Dark Knight II SD1283 Night Hawk Edition CPU Cooler with Stealth Aerospace Industry Thermal conductive ceramic coating

RAM: 8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance RAM (1600Mhz) (2x4GB)

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87-HD3 (I know you can't SLI but I don't need to, my GTX770 plays BF3 at ultra settings at over 50FPS)

Hard Drive: 2TB

SSD: None

Case: Zalman Z11 Plus

Monitor: AOC G2460P 24 inch monitor (1920x1080p)

seems pretty good, my personal favorite coolers are either a CM hyper 212 or a high end noctua, but to each their own.

I don't know what your storage set up is, but the gigabyte z87x line has extra SATA connectors and features, if what you got will suit your needs then it looks pretty good.

Well first off, if you don't have an SSD, pick up a samsung 840 series one. They help a lot with load times in games and speeding up system boot times and pretty much everything in some way or another. Best speed upgrade you can get from there.

The rest of it is pretty solid. Not the best on the market, but nowhere near outdated enough to be worth upgrading, not for at least a few years. Overall I'd' say it should keep you happy. Only other additions I'd make would be little things, maybe a wifi card, some nice gaming peripheals, surround sound speaker kit or webcam, that sort of thing... The general core build looks good.

I'm going to be getting an SSD somewhere in the future but for now a 2tb drive is good enough for me!

You said 16gb right now is overkill. Thats true for now. That won't always be true. However i said i prefer the 16GB ram. I didn't say he shoukd buy the 16gb. although some stuff you can do with a PC requires more RAM like 32GB like i have. Such as running virtual machines and other stuff like that. Although for gaming all the more you really need is 8GB. I still prefer 16GB-32GB.
