Not sure that this issue is best addressed as an XP problem but thought I would start here.

I have Win XP on one hard drive and Debian Linux on a second drive. I have noticed that if I am running Linux and restart the computer, then select Windows XP in the Grub loader, that when XP starts the Ethernet connection is not available. I have to turn off the machine and restart to get the connection. However, if in Linux I shut down the computer and then restart the Ethernet connection is fine.

I would prefer to NOT have to shut down the computer as to avoid excessive starting and stopping of the hard drives.

Does anybody know why this is happening and how I might avoid it? And PLEASE, don't tell me to quit swapping back and forth between OS's ! I have needs ! LOL!
