So yes, i am asking will i see large FPS loss in games if I upgrade from my 1280x1024 monitor to 1080p one.
My PC :
amd 8320 @ 3.5
nvidia gtx 550ti 1 gb GDDr5 at 970Mhz

So i am new in this site and i have a few questions, this is one of them. BTW love this site and people on it, cant understand why i didnt find about it earlier .
Thanks in advance ! :)

it all depends what games... you can play a lot of games on 1080p on high\ultra, just not the newest, and probably not the majority of 2013 games... it all depends on the games... some games are new but low demanding... but if you really want to enjoy yourself then do upgrade in the near future... video cards are cheap now, as well as 1080p monitors... basically a 200-250$(can even be cheaper with a good discount) card will max out almost all games at 1080p... those hhigh end 300, 500, 800$ cards are for high resolutions and ultraHD resolutions.

But by all means, upgrade the cpu, get the monitor, see the result... and then decide where you want to go from there

What if i reduce setting on games i usually play on ultra->high
High->medium etc.
will that give me simillar fps or is 1080p no go for me with 550 ti ?

Maybe with medium settings, but the resolution itself is what's gonna take it's toll on your video card.

In the long run you will want to pair your 1080p monitor with a video card capable of delivering that quality so the next step will be to upgrade your GPU.

look at this graph... it wont be 100% precise, but will give you a general idea on your cards performance...
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650/performance

PS. there was no FPS graph for 550 Ti so I opened 650 graph... if you can see on the performance comparison graph then your 550 Ti is maybe 5% weaker than the 650. Although it probably has an old architecture and some other stuff, I will still assume that it should perform close to that GTx 650.
