Front 3.5mm vs Back 3.5mm

My computer can't tell the two inputs apart when they're both being used. It reads them as one, and defaults to the front IO panel. Is there way to fix this? I use the back for my headset and the front on occasion for speakers.

That happens to me as well on both my computers. I plug my speakers into the back and when i want to use the headset i just plug it in and it overrides the back.
