Hello,
as the title says my CPU overheats when I boot up my system [Edit: After 2 minutes of playing cs:go it goes up to 80°Celsius and my framerate drops under 30]. When I looked in the BIOS it said 95°Celsius (which is probably the highest it can get)
I don't know where that came from, the day before everything worked fine.
Please help me!
Specs:
INTEL i7-3770k
EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780
AsRock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional
Alpenföhn Matterhorn (CPU-cooler)
Samsung SSD 840 Pro
Western Digital Velociraptor
16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
Corsair AX 860

check that the cooler on tight. if you moved the pc check that the cooler has not ripped off the mb and is sitting in the case.
if it on tight you may have to see if the thermal paste under the cooler is still wet or if it went bad. before you pull the cooler off make sure you have some paste. if the fans on the cooler are not moving it can heat up. but a cooler that big should be fine with no fans. the only other issue could be to much voltage going to the cpu and it cooking. have you tried clearing the cmos to see if it a bad over clock???

It (the cooler) is still on top of the CPU.
If I am going to remove the cooler I will probably change it to a Noctua one even if the paste is still on and replace it.
I didn't overclock my CPU.
How much voltage should run through a normal i 3770k?
