Wireless routers interfering

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for your time. I'm having an odd connection issue and since I'm not much of a networking guy, I figured I'd ask the guys who know.

So here's the situation: My girlfriend lives in a guesthouse she rent from the folks who live in the main house in front of hers. They share an internet connection but hers has always been shoddy, so to improve signal they got a new router to put back in her place. Convenient, since there is already a coax cable run from a splitter in the main house back to hers. After plugging it in and setting the back router to channel 11 to prevent interference since the routers are identical, it seemed to work great. Unfortunately, the folks in the front house now have intermittent connection problems, especially on the upper floor.

Is there a proper way to configure the back router so that it doesn't disrupt their wifi? I wouldn't think it would be typical interference, and their S/N ratio seems alright, but I can tell I'm out of my depth here.

I should also add that the man who built the house and guest house ran the coax cable under the concrete sidewalk and didn't bother to put in any crawlspace access, so running any additional cables (such as ethernet) seems to be a non-option.

Thanks for the help!

How did you manage to use the coax cable. Did you use MoCA devices.

Your best bet it to run INSSIDER and see if there is any overlap. Generally you can't run even 2 router anymore since most people are using 40mhz channels. This means you use 1,6 or 6,11. You could change one of the routers to only use 20mhz channels, the top speed will still be more than most internet connections.

Still if the connection was bad before I would doubt it you would now suddenly get enough signal to go back to the main house. Some routers you can decrease the transmit power of the radios. If it is really going that far it should not hurt to turn them down a bit.
