Hi everyone, my WD external hard drive won't be recognize in my laptop. Though laptop indicates that a usb device has been connected but is doesn't show up in it. Does anyone have any advice?

What did you buy?

So you took the WD hard drive out of the old case and put into a replacement one?

What WD hard drive is it? Serial number?

I inquire this because if it is just a SATA or IDE drive you can put it into a desktop, use hirens boot cd to do data recovery.
