GTX 780 PSU requirement question

Hi, I am looking to purchase the GTX 780 but have some questions before I purchase.

Will my Cooler master GX-Lite 600W be compatible with the 780? I Have heard that 600 watts is enough, but I am not to sure about the connectors for the gpu will match the ones of the PSU. Also I am using an AMD FX 8320 which uses a fair amount of power as I've heard.

So will I have to change my power supply or does it look like I'll be okay?

A GeForce GTX 780 needs at least 42 amps on the 12v rail and a 600w power suppply.

The GX LITE has PCI-e 6+2 pins x 2 , AND 45 AMPS ON THE 12 VOLT RAIL SO YES IT'S SUFFICIENT TO RUN YOUR SPECS with the 780.
  2. The GX is listed as a tier 4 unit. Most Coolermaster units are pretty much junk.

600 watts is fine for a GTX 780 system but with a low end 600w unit like that I would be thinking of replacing it with something decent.
  3. I would replace it. Its just not a very good PSU quality wise. It may run for awhile but almost the entire GX series has problems.

Yeah I'll be replacing my PSU for atleast 750 Watts soon, moneys just the only issue
  5. It's sufficient to power your specs , just replace when you can

How so? I Have had this PSU for around 2 years now and haven't really had any issues with it. Maybe I'm just lucky :p
  7. my somewhat decent dual rail 25amp per 12v 600w oczmodxstream pro runs my 780 and 2500k@4.4 and everything is fine. ive even had the 780@1.35ghz core for a suicide run thinking i was going to trip the ocp on my psu but it didn't. but im leaving it at stock clocks for now until the seasonic 660w platinum goes on sale again for $80.

Either lucky or it just hasn't been under much of a load.
