There would be no reason to. You cannot add WiFi to Ethernet to speed up Internet access/downloads. A hard wired connection is always going to preferable to a wireless connection.

Maybe they want to connect another device and was wondering if the WIFI worked while the PC was plugged in. They never specified they wanted to run ethernet and wifi both on the same PC.
