My old sempron 140 works in my msi 880gm-e41. I tried putting in the Phenom II X3 740 but I get stuck on the splash screen. I never touched the BIOS.
I updated the BIOS but the new X3 still doesn't work. The LED on the motherboard doesn't turn off either which is in between the CPU and RAM. I'm not sure about this board, but on my ASUS that LED has to do with the RAM.
Any ideas?
I pulled one stick of RAM out and it seems to be working...will keep you updated.
The CPU seems to be working but every time I stick the other RAM stick in it gets stuck on the splash screen.
I switched the RAM sticks and they each work individually.
