Hi

Many motherboards have a option to switch on at a given time
(not sure if it also uses date or does it every day of the week)
This is a setting in the BIOS

First set time to switch on then enable this feature

The above will be detailed in motherboard manual

Alternative for networked PC's (is less clearly documented)
Server sends a wake up signal either to all PC's on network (where this has been enabled)
or to targeted PC's

when youve booted to your desktop look in the lower rh corner and you should see your time displayed.left click on it and a dialog box will pop up.on the bottom of the box it will say change date and time.click on that and have at it.

sounds like that's just going to change the time which isn't what I want to do, I want the computer to turn on at a set time, eg at night so can do updates

Hi

If you read 3.6.8 of user manual you find details of APM settings
including Power On By RTC
