I am looking to upgrade my CPU from an A6-3650 to either the A10-5800K or FX6300, but I'm not sure which to go with. I have an AMD GPU 7870. I'm looking for an effective CPU to step up to the next level. As of now I can run most popular games without much trouble, but I am in need of increasing my processor's speed. I'm open for suggestions also.

Your A6-3650 is socket FM1 so your current motherboard is FM1. An A10-5800k uses socket FM2 while a FX-6300 uses AM3+. So in order to change your cpu to one of those choices, you also must change your motherboard. The best apu for socket FM1 would be a 3870k. A FX-6300 easily beats the other choices especially since you already have a good graphics card.
