Hi! I'm doing a build for a farmer/friend of mine. He just needs a basic office pc. I am putting in a corsair cx500 because I have it laying around. I am going with windows 7 as not to confuse him. He uses lotus 1-2-3 and has converted that to excel spreadsheets. So I will get a copy of office for him as well.

How does this build look. Remember no PSU or monitor are needed.

This is very low end even for an office build. A better CPU would definitely be recommended.

Honestly a crappy $300 prebuilt would be better in this budget range if it is just for office use.

Does it NEED wifi or a DVD drive? How big of a HDD does he need?

With a build like that games wouldn't even be playable, unless they were in-browser, if you tried to expand your budget to around $500-$600, you would get a lot more.

His budget does not say 300-400. He copped the template for asking questions. His actual budget, as stated, is $250.

that's a big meow.
yep go for what tiny voices suggested. is best deal and can handle all basic stuff.
wow 4gb ram at 33$ although it's only single channel that's cheap O_O
