what are symptoms of bad video card?

My PC is becoming visually unstable , images are overlaid with a moving grid and I can usually overcome the situation by restart, l suspect the video card and want to check with others who many have had experience ......any ideas?

Um you might want to download the latest drivers that may help fix the issue. Also, if you are in crossfire or SLI try just using one card at a time. While it is probably a software bug, you might want to see if your gpu is overheating, again probably not the reason for the glitches but you want to cover all of your bases. If the problem continues to persist call the gpu maker's customer service rep, sometimes they can help and other times they are special with a capital C. The more specifics you give us the more we can help you out :)
