Solution
you can try to update via Intel's website to scan and update the drivers. But it would be hit or miss on that for Win8. Do be warned, computers for consumers are 'made' to last at least 3 years, but there is no garuntee past that and often fail due to wear, tear, use, and such.

OKay so this is a six year old computer your trying to 'stretch' the life in by installing Windows 8. I am sorry to tell you but unless Sony states that VIAO model is supported by W8, you won't get the 'updates drivers' ever because the computer is not supported. Computers for consumers are only a five year investment before they are either 'incompatible', die from use, or unsupported by what you the consumer wants to use.

Your only real option is to replace this (assuming it is a laptop) which is very cheap, only $249 at Walmart for a i3 desktop or laptop PC if you want 'supported' (i.e. drivers are available, under warranty, compatible with current Windows, etc.) computer. In that you can get 8GB of RAM (4 times as much) a much more powerful processor (i3 has '4 cores'), 1TB of storage, displays normally 1080p (1980x1020), etc.

Here is a example at Best Buy (this is their discoutn website) http://www.cowboom.com/product/1468193
Searches through http://slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?forumchoice%5B%5D=9&q=i3+laptop&pp=20&firstonly=1
etc.
