No video signal being sent to monitor

For about a year I have been having an issue where the computer will randomly stop sending a video signal to the monitor. This has happened on two different monitors so I know that it's a problem with the computer itself.

The problem would often manifest itself when changing resolution (e.g. when I load a game) or if the computer went to sleep I would get no video signal when I woke it up.

In the past week the problem has reached the point where half the time the display will work fine for boot up but lose signal when the Windows login screen appears and the other half will not get any signal at any point. I suspect the video card may be failing but I don't want to spend money replacing it unless I'm 100% sure that that is the issue. How do I go about troubleshooting this issue? Thanks

Well you've already tried on a different monitor so if it was me the last things I would do would be t make sure the motherboard BIOS is up to date and then all the drivers. After that try the card in another computer. If it does the same things in another rig then it's faulty and you'll need another GPU.
