Mother board and cpu got fried and hp replaced my a10 quad with 2 a6 dual cores?
Should I send it back and have them put a replacement a10 quad back in?

When I bring up "devices" on the computer it has A6 6400K twice, 2x A6. It was sent to HP under warranty with an A10 6700 quad core and came back with what I stated above along with a new motherboard as they thought the problem was a dead power supply.

I am not a gamer but will do quite a bit of photography along with video if i can get this resolved.

if you are talking about the hardware manager, yes it would list A6 6400K twice, it is a dual core cpu and would be listed twice (once per core) in hardware manager. Your A10 would have been listed 4 times.

I'd call HP and demand that they replace the cpu. You had a quad core and they replaced it with a dual core. That is TERRIBLE customer service.

I agree and that is why it is getting shipped back to them, I am sure most people do not realize that this happens more than they know.
I am sure they will drag their feet getting this back to me now!

Thanks for your reply and I have learned quite a bit in the last 10 minutes as I am a novice in this area!

The unit is slated for pick up to get it replaced with what it came with!
