Hello,

I am putting together a build and want to order it before waiting for my next paycheck. I don't have another $75 to fork out until next month, but would like to use it for a month if possible.

For a Z87 LGA 1150 motherboard, will it operate with a single stick of RAM (8gb)? Please note I do not want anything less than 8gb per stick.

If so, how will it affect my system? Will this damage anything? Will I still be able to play games? I won't be overclocking anything yet.

Thank you :)

it will run with one stick but you will be running in single channel and not dual channel it will be a performance hit, and just be sure that when you do get your 75 dollars to get the same exact stick of ram or it may cause stability issues

Thank you bad kitty. I have read similar reports as well.

How much of a performance hit are you talking? Will games be playable? Planetside 2, World of Tanks, World of Warcraft. Nothing too heavy, in my opinion.

i cant find any benches, i know that it makes your computer sluggish and i would be guessing that you would take around a 5 fps hit in gaming seeing how the majority of gpu intensive games would be buffered on its dedicated memory imo
