You need a switch with 24 ports, preferably a high-quality gigabit with encryption. The Netgear ProSafe is a good one for a good price, under $200, and ethernet cable and probably plastic wall clips to hold the runs. It's easier to buy the CAT5 cable in bulk and assemble the plugs yourself (you need a stripper, RJ45 plugs, and a crimp tool, plus the know how to do it, it's not difficult). Also you need a way to test the runs to the server (a laptop to ping the server from the termination is perfect). 1000 feet in bulk costs about $50 or so. However, you can buy pre made cable, but it's more expensive that way. They come in different lengths. 100 foot CAT5 (good quality) cable costs around $30-$50. A smaller 50 foot or 25 foot length...

A smaller 50 foot or 25 foot length costs around $15-$25 or less. It's better to do the bulk route since you are running so many cables. Buying them individually will get expensive.

Depending on how far from the server your client PC's will be, you need to measure how to know how much cable you need. If it's a run over 300 feet, which is the longest length recommended (over 300 feet you start loosing packets, or data), you need another switch or hub.
