Help with my build - 760p or 1080p?

Hey guys. I'm 15 and can't work so I'm limited on money. My dad doesn't make a lot of money so the only time he really buys me stuff is when he gets his income tax. He usually gets around $4,500 and said he will give me $1,200.

Currently I have a 32" TV I use as a monitor at 1360x768. I was going to build a PC with 8GB of RAM, a GTX 760 and FX-8350 for about $800 and use the left over money for something else.

Is it worth it to spend the entire $1,200 to game at 1080p with a 3570k and a GTX 780?

I would also like to record some gameplay on games like Battlefield 4, even if I had to drop the resolution to 720p to keep 60fps. Also, would the FX-8350 be a better choice in the $1,200 build too? Because both new consoles use AMD, games might be better optimized for them. Also, the extra cores might be better for recording. But it has less power per core and uses more wattage and heat, so I would have to upgrade the PSU too.

This is the $1200 build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/30SAB

After tax that would go a little bit over $1300, and if you wanted a cooler looking case you could get and NZXT H230, but that is the best you can do for $1200, and you will have no problem running battlefield 4 maxed out... I have a 760 and it can run BF4 at 60-70 average, so the 780 will be no problem. As far as the CPU goes, the FX - 8350 performs the same as the 3570k, but in games you will see a 4-5 fps increase. You could probably get a power supply for $60, and drop the price a little, but it wouldn't be by much.

Really? The GTX 760 will run it maxed out at 70fps? If I turned off AA it should be good to record at 60fps then. My dad doesn't think it's that powerful though, but I'm going to get the 760. My dad is building his with a 3770k and a GTX 780 TI SLI...

Why not Haswell

Oh yeah, it can play on it no problem, if you record with shadowplay you would only lose 5 FPS (I know because I have one), but you might want to change it to 2xMSAA and SSAO instead of 4xMSAA and HBAO. On maps like Operation Locker it will drop to about 55-60 average on less intensive maps for me is 60-70. With the power supply in my parts list you could probably get a really high overclock on the 760 though, because it has a good cooler

@TheUnknownPC

Sorry, I don't know how to quote you from my phone. But Haswell runs hotter than Ivy Bridge and that's why I'm getting a 3570k over a 4670k, and him for the same reason. And there is hardly any performance gain.

Is there anything else I can help you with? If not I would really appreciate if you would choose a best answer so we can close the thread :)
