Hey guys, this my first post (no pun intended) and I have a problem with my computer.
Specs:
Motherboard: Asus Z87-a
CPU: Interl Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz quad-core
RAM: Mushkin Redline 16 GB (2x8) DDR3-1866
Power Supply: Corsair RM650
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracude 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal hard Drive
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 280X 3GB
Sound Card: Asus Xonar DG 24-bit 96 Khz
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM

NOTE: I currently only have ONE RAM stick connected because the other is defective. I'm gonna RMA it, but I wanna determine if I need to RMA the mb or anything else as well.

Ok, here's the story:
I was on my computer when I accidentally pressed the 'sleep' button on my keyboard. The light on the power button on my case (a corsair C70 ATX mid tower case btw) started flashing on and off, signalling that it was asleep. However, when I tried to turn it back on with the mouse and keyboard, nothing happened. I then tried pushing the power button. still no luck. Being the impatient person that I am, I simply held down the power button and shut down the computer. When I tried to turn it back on, I got a black screen on with the message: "DVI no signal" on it. I thought the problem was with the cable, so I unplugged and plugged back in the DVI cable a couple of times on both ends, no luck. At this point I took off the side of the case and noticed the red CPU LED was on. That's pretty much all I've got. I have no idea what to do next. Note that I'm pretty much an amateur when I comes to computers (my brother helped me build it). we built this computer about 4 months ago, and nothing like this has ever happened before. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys! Thanks for your early responses! I had posted the question last night, so I didnt get a chance to try any of your suggestions, however, I'm happy to say my computer sucessfully posted this morning. I'm still not exactly sure what the cause was, though, so I'm worried it might happen again, but for now I'm just happy it turned on. When I booted, I noticed that instead of the CPU led, the BOOT DEVICE led turned red instead, and it took me to BIOS. There, I loaded default settings and ran windows. Now my comp is running fine. Again, thanks for your attention brarboy and easylover!

next time something like that happens, check your psu first. Kind of odd like you are stating first you cpu led and then `boot device and reassure your components are in firm connection with one another. Good luck though ;)

Thanks for the advice! I'll keep that in mind.
