Hi guys,

I have decide to get GTX 750. I have read many article about the new Maxwell technology and how it would work in a 300w PSU. But I'm a bit skeptical about Bestec and wonder if using this GTX 750 would blow it up. What are the bets here ? Would this GPU put Bestec at a strain ? I'd love to replace the CPU, but I'd rather build a brand new desktop which is even more costly. Any help is appreciated,

Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93 GHZ 2.94GHZ. 4096 RAM s my CPU

Thanks,

Solution
basically you divide evrything by 12 cpu watt gpu watt chipset tdp
cpu is 65w=5.42
gpu is 55w=4.58
chipset tdp should be around 2a

that gives you exactly 12a

on the website you linked it said that your psu single 12v rail is rated to handle 19a with a -.0.8 variance
with you using 12a and it putting out a steady 18.2a then you are still only using 66% at max load
even with capacitor aging you should be fine, yes that is a recommended psu however you wont be stressing it enough to hurt it

well its not a reliable psu to say the least but the power draw on the on a 750 is 55w and im not sure what your cpu series is but its probably and i-something and less than 100w. if your system has been stable to this point, putting a 750 in it shouldnt stress it

It's core 2 duo e7500 , I think about 65 wattage.

if your system has been stable then you have the specs to run it...if your cpu is pulling more amperage than a 750 then even with capacitor aging and it not running to full specs, it should be fine...that card has virtually no power draw.

Sorry to bother you, but
This is my PSU http://www.outletpc.com/lh4142-atx0300d5wc-rev-b-300w-power-supply-atx.html .

I don't really know how to calculate that, can you help ?
