My specs are:
1GB XFX Radeon HD 7770
Intel Core i3-3220 cpu @ 3.30 ghz
LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x DVD±R
Fractal Design Core 1000
CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V
MSI H61M-P31 (G3) Motherboard
4GB Corsair Value DDR3 PC3-10600 (1333)
500GB Seagate ST500DM002 Barracuda SATA 6Gb/s, 7200rpm

I want to update the cpu and gpu to an i5 and gtx 660 will this run games such as bf4 dayz etc... and will I have to to buy a new motherboard or power supply or more fans?

Solution
If you were to move to an i5 3570 (not K) and the 660Ti according to the PSU calculator I use, it's recommending 491W so that would be a 500W supply. Personally I would push that to a 550W supply just to give yourself some headroom. Another upgrade you might consider is getting 8GB of RAM. Is that 4GB as single DIMM?

This will play BF4 and DayZ, however your probably not going to play at the highest detail settings. You didn't mention resolution but I am assuming 1080p.

EDIT: Forgot about fans. How many are you running now? Where are they placed? How is the airflow in your case? More is usually better since you can lower the fan speed and still get good airflow.

Thanks for responding,
I have about 4 fans I think, airflow seems to be fine I'm going to upgrade my ram to 8 gigs and what sort of fps would I be getting in high setting in BF4 would you say?
Or is their a better cpu gpu combo in the same price range?

Here is a graph from Guru3D that has the 660 on it. You haven't mentioned the resolution of your monitor, so I'll assume 1080p. The graph is 1920X1200, so you can expect the framerate to be very close to what they have on the graph.

So it's showing 43 FPS average with Ultra Setting. Now remember this performance analysis was done when the game released. There have been patches and driver updates that have come out since, so you might see slightly better results. Also since these are Ultra settings, you should have some room to reduce settings to get the framerate higher without sacrificing too much visually.

Oddly once one starts talking about upgrading, one or two upgrades begets three or four. You want a new CPU and GPU, and you get told to get a bigger PSU and more RAM. Isn't PC gaming fun. I don't know how the console boys can be content gaming on the same hardware for 7 years or more. Sometimes I'm not content running the same hardware setup for 12 months.
