Hi Guys.

I'm looking to build a cca. 1100 EUR ($1500) gaming system by the end of March. I already have decided on some of the parts (see here http://pcpartpicker.com/p/32FSl), but then kind of got stuck, so I was hoping you could give me some recommandations, especially for these parts:

1. Case - I was thinking something not necessarily too fancy that can keep things cool and, if possible, dust-free. Maybe something with frontal USB 3.0 ports and with internal 2.5' bays, for my SSD's (although, if the case is worth it, I could settle for one w/o 2.5 bays, and use adapters).
2. PSU - I don't really know how to choose it, since there are so many criteria and options available (modular vs non-modular, active vs passive, 80 certification, wattage etc).
3. Monitor - I was thinking some decent full HD display, around 23-24 inch.

Since this is my first build, I have no experience, so maybe you could give me a few tips. For instance, do you think I will be needing a CPU cooler (in case I will try OCing)?
Also, I would appreciate any comments regarding the parts that I have already chosen.

I was thinking of leaving the HDD, DVD writer, keyboard, mouse and speakers for last, and choose them depending on the remaining budget.

Really looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Ovidiu

Here are some online PC stores from Romania:
http://www.pcgarage.ro/
http://www.mediadot.ro/
http://www.emag.ro/
http://www.cel.ro/
http://www.kauf.ro/

The problem is, the websites are all in Romanian. That't why I didn't even think of mentioning them earlier.
And also, the costs are specified in Romanian currency (lei / ron).

You simply can't compare parts in US with parts in Europe. The build you have suggested will be more than 1500Eur in Europe, that is $2100. It sucks to be in the old continent :)

agree with you there, hate the price hikes :D
Anyway, thanks for putting your words here.

The thing is, I already own the motherboard, the video card and SSDs (as part of a deal). This means, for the rest of the system I can afford spending about 720 EUR ($1000). Of course, there is still the option of returning the already owned parts, but I would prefer not to.

I returned the video card and bought an Asus GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 + an 120 GB SSD. So now I own the video card, the motherboard (the Maximus VI GENE) and the storage for my system.
This means that I have a $1000 (3250 RON) budget for the rest of the parts.
I also found an online shop with better prices http://www.badabum.ro/componente-periferice/componente-pc/.

I was still thinking of going with the following parts:
CPU: i5-4670K,
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro Red DDR3-1600 8GB Kit,
PSU: Corsair CX600M,
Case: Antec Three Hundred Two.
(they cost about 2000 RON or $615, so I would still have about 1000-1200 RON or $300-$350 to spend on a monitor, optical drive, keyboard, mouse and speakers.)

Do you think these parts would make a good system?
