I am using the 7.1 audio from my Asrock z87 formula MB. I have a set of 5.1 surround speakers and a pair of stereo headphones. When I play bf2 I am occasionally forced to use my headphones so I do not disturb my wife.
The issue I have is the headphones do not recognize the center channel once plugged in.
I assume I should change my audio settings from 5.1 to stereo when I use my headset but that seems awfully cumbersome. Often times I need to plug them in and put them on during the hat of battle. There isn't time to change windows settings or to fiddle with an options menu. It would also be fairly inconvenient to switch settings back and forth all the time.
Surely I am not the only person to have this issue. I have considered 3d surround headphones but heard their quality is garbage. My headphones are relatively new and if possible I'd like to use them.
How are others solving this problem? Would a soundcard handle switching based on the input ? I am running windows 8.1
Please post your solutions to this issue. Thanks !
