MB: ASUS M4A78T-E
BIOS : 3503
AMD: Phenom II X4 955
Patriot DDR3 PC3-12800 2 x 4G
Crucial M500 SSD 120G
W 7.1 64bit
NVIDIA GeForce GT 620
Driver: v 9.18.13.3489

I'm running latest BIOS, drivers, utilities, etc., from support.asus.com
No OC, no tweaking, no vTurbo.

Can anyone advise re: config of these Asus apps?
(AISuite, EPU, QFan(s), etc.,)
They seem to step no one another. I have constantly low fan speeds & sometimes temps exceed °60 C - when my daughter is only playing flash games....

Before I ask app specific questions,
answers to which no doubt will lead to more questions,
I'd prefer to know if there's any comprehensive configuration resource/info/details?

e.g. - CnQ:
enabled in the BIOS
MB manual says refer to software manual
(for detailed software configuration)
The CnQ manual has same info as MB manual
(with XP & Vista specific enable & Launch info)
No configuration info...

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Thanks, my primary issue is CPU temp / fan speed

Over the years I've read all about these apps.

by "step no one another" i mean conflict
(12 years in Italy is ruining my English)
- just a suspicion. It's not clear why my temps spike & fan speeds do not increase.

CnQ is enabled in bios
(RAM set to 1600)

Last week I found my CPU temp >°70C, with system idle shortly after a reboot.
Fan speed was around 2100 rpm.
I throttled down EPU and temp dropped.

- uninstalled AISuite,
doesn't seem to have impacted the issue.

Any ideas?
documentation?

You write, "they seem to step no one another". I'm not sure what you are describing here.

1) constantly low fan speeds - the motherboard has two Chassis Fan connectors, however since the Chassis Q-Fan Function is set to [Disabled] by default then your choice of fans may be the problem. The fans would be running at full speed.

2) AISuite offers control over system settings. I would imagine your DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) memory runs at a slower 1333MHz speed if you don't manually set the DRAM Frequency and DRAM Timings.

3) CnQ - Cool'n'Quiet is a CPU speed throttling and power saving technology introduced by AMD with its Athlon 64 processor line. It works by reducing the processor's clock rate and voltage when the processor is idle. It also is [Disabled] by default.
