For your situation I think the IPS is a much better solution for you. Would you mind if I asked you where you live in to have such terrible power outages to warrant hooking up a UPS to a TV?

i live in bangladesh....actually i need tv safety...it costs a lot....by da way IPS does not give online curerent protection ....i mean if electricity cuts thn my tv goes shut down and thn starts again....i want uninterrupted power supply bro coz some time i sit for watching moviez.......i just read in internet that a low spec pc takes 65-250watt...so whats d prob running my smart tv which takes 67watt maxed .....actually whats d prob using UPS?????

In that case, your IPS isn't properly setup. If under the provision of an IPS, you shouldn't even be experiencing a temporary power loss.

^ in order to understand that you'd need to understand how an oscilloscope works/reads. Simply put, have enough power outages and you can kiss your display goodbye. Much like how an energy saving CFL bulb's life diminishes every time you turn it on and off.

Furthermore, you are mistaken about a mid spec'd machine's power usage. Depending on the system config, they can sip anywhere between 350W~550W(if mid range). The higher the power usage the lower the backup time from a UPS. Have you factored in the speaker wattage and its overall power usage? Monitors use far less power than your aforementioned TV yet with a machine powered by an i3-2100(display via iGPU)+550W PSU can merely sustain backup for a few minutes before the ear piercing warning of imminent shutdown drives you mad.

Do what the rest of your country men are doing connect it to an IPS and take a look at your unit if it's causing your TV to blip.

I've posted helpful links for you to read, I can't do anymore than that I'm afraid.

The computer is a much more critical component than your TV, I'd ask you to leave your UPS connected to the computer and leave the Tele as is or off the IPS as you have it now.

I know there aren't few people using Smart TV's, there are alot of people using Smart TV's! I know since I have clients in that area.

When you get help please find it proper etiquette to show some gratitude even if it hasn't helped you out. On the contrary you haven't read anything about the oscilloscope power graph mentioned in that link.

In the time it took you to comment here about not finding an answer this is what was found via 2 mins of Google'ing.

Helping you find an answer is one thing, helping you to read is another subject matter entirely. You should be better off asking your local alley electrician if hooking up a UPS to your smart TV is a good idea. Later you can blame him when you end up with a dead TV for his lack of knowledge on the matter :)

For the record I live in Bangladesh too and an IPS works fine with any TV all the way upto a 56" provided the wattage is properly calculated/accounted for/calibrated. So like I said either your IPS is wonky or you have a bad unit.
