howl to turn off mouse pad on my lap top

I have a acer lap top. I use a optical mouse and have no use for the mouse pad. I found it very annoying when . How can I shut it off? I know how to uninstall it, Will that disable the other mouse

no, what you will need to do is restart the computer and press esc as soon as the computer comes on and then your gonna be dumped into the bios you need to search around and try to find Internal Pointing Device (its going to be something along those lines) and press enter and that shoud disable it
