How To Stop Processor Slowing Down When Idle?

Hi, I have an AMD FX-6300 with stock speed at 3.5Ghz and I noticed that when I am not in games or doing something CPU intensive, it drops way down the 3/3.1Ghz. Is there any way I can stop this from happening? Something in the BIOS maybe? Thanks :)

This is like asking if you can keep your car running at 3k RPM when you are sitting at a stop light, its dumb but you can. Just disable Cool'n'Quiet in BIOS and set windows to high performance and it should keep things from enabling their power savings modes.
