Hey guys, right now I have a gtx 750 ti in my PCIE 2.0 x16 slot of "new" computer. Everything runs great, its an amd a8-5500 cpu and all that good stuff. Yesterday I decided to take out the gtx and throw it in my old cpu just for the hell of it to see what would happen. For some weird reason, when I plug it into my old Inspiron 530 desktop w/ a DG33M03 motherboard into the PCIE 1.0 x16 slot, I dont get a picture. The GFX card will run, fans will all be working, but nothing will load up on the computer, and I get no beeps. If I take the gfx card out, plug it into the onboard graphics, I still get no picture until I reset the CMOS. What I am thinking is that everytime I put the gfx card into the bios, it changes some kinda setting which wont make the computer boot. I had a picture show ONCE that I havent been able to replicate that said something like new gfx card installed please switch vga to the dedicated card or something. But I cant get it to work. Do you think I might have to update the BIOS, or is the PCIE 1.0 slot not compatible?

I've read up on that they are all backwards compatible but maybe they were wrong. Are you positive? Haha

As smeezekitty said it isn't a definate yes or no, as there are different versions of PCIe 1.0, however as a general rule PCIe 3.0 cards do not work in 1.0 slots. You could try updating your bios to see if that fixes your issue.
