I discovered that if a friend burns a copy of win 7 ulti and you install it on a desktop and he thinks it will work fine but does not give you the key then you have to find the key. I used a program to find the key on the system I then took the key and tried to activate the program it would not allow it to work. It pops up saying that the key is a default key? What this means to me is nothing? I used another program and it found the same key I entered it but I got the same error message this is a default key. What is this meaning of a default key and if I found the key that is attached to this version then why wont it accept it in the reg window. I also didn't want to go back to him and ask for the key. I have 2 days left to reg this version then I guess I will be locked out.

You need to purchase a license key of your own. You cannot use one that you "find" somewhere. Sounds like your "friend" gave you an OEM copy with a BIOS locked key embedded in it.
