If you hover over my picture you will see my rig.

I have always wanted to get into water cooling because it looks awesome, but having the thought of my whole system being destroyed stops me from buying one. I just recently added a gtx 770, and I would hate to break it. Are closed loop systems safe to use? Do any of them come with warranties that will cover your rig in case of failure?

your reason for wanting one is?....overclocking? at stock are the temps too high? you can not overclock on the M5a97 LE.You can barely overclock on the M5a97 r2.0 (non LE with better VRM heatsinks and power phases).
Im using a hyper 212 evo at 53 degrees celcius and 4.3 Ghz and 1.45 voltage. 8320 and m5a97 r2.0.

that gives me a bit of headroom to play with, and i know i could push it to 4.5 ghz and still be in good thermal condition (under 62 degrees/70 degrees socket temp) but my motherboard cant handle a much higher overclock before it becomes unstable. it simply cant provide enough stable voltage to the chip. My FX6300 was at 4.6Ghz with PLENTY of headroom for temp, so in the end of the day my bottleneck is my motherboard. not cooling (30$ aircooler). so re consider your motherboard before you overclock. Otherwise why consider aftermarket cooling at all?

I just want a cooler because right now I have a stock cooler. I have a side panel and I want the cooler to look good. I know the 212 evo is a really good cooler, but I have never liked the way it looks.

The noctua coolers look, well plain ugly to most.

The compromise I came to was using an EVO with led fans, that way it looks decent on my 300R window.
Closed loop coolers look nicer, and run better than most air coolers, but have a slight leak chance that isnt covered by the manufacturer. The risk isnt very big, or something to really worry about, but is present.

Ah yes it looks like the 2.0 version of the LE has updates power phases to match that of the M5a97 r2.0 (4+2) just stick with the hyper 212 EVO, and you should be able to get up to 4.3 Ghz with no problems, and plenty of headroom (temp wise). since we have basically the same setup right now at idle (just chrome open) 24 degrees and under Prime95 load 53 and under normal load around 34 degrees.

The dual tower noctua will not fit according to my tall ram. This is the only large air cooler that I have found that fits my ram

look custom water loops seem crazy and all but if you dont skip any steps or cut any corners you will find it very easy and safe. You will end up with an awesome looking rig and most importantly temps that no air cooler will match plain and simple. Water extracts heat a lot better than air so.... ya i say do your research and head to the custom loop

with a motherboard that only has 4+2 power phases he wont be able to really make use of the water cooler, per se. Obviously it will help keep temps down but the hyper 212 will do that fine before he can push the 8320 to a point where it needs water cooling. simply put in OP's case its far from realistic or necessary, considering price/performance ratios here. If he had a 150.00$+ motherboard then I would say OC and watercool
