  1. Hi, just wondering, are you using a laptop or a desktop and also, why doesn't the mouse work?

i have laptop dell inspiron n5110
i want to be sure that the usb 3.0 ports and touchpad will work during windows install
  3. I'm confused, so the mouse does work?
  4. i want to install windows 8.1 from usb drive on my laptop
    but i have 1 usb 2.0 port and 2 usb 3.0 ports
during install i will need a mouse or touchpad but i'm not sure usb 3.0 will work to connect my mouse to it or touchpad will work
because there is 1 usb 2.0 port that i will connect my usb drive to it

just i want to be sure that one of them ( usb 3.0 or touchpad) will work during windows install

oh yeah, both will work. What I would recommend is pluggin the mouse in the 2.0 and the USB in 3.0 even if the USB is 2.0.
