I recently upgraded my BIOS to 1301 x64 on my motherboard.
Before that, I could configure my fan ( Scythe Kozuti ) to run as low as 800RPM.

After the upgrade however, it is not possible for me to make it go any lower than 1500RPM.
I am using ASUS' Fan Xpert 2.

I tried Fan Tuning, resetting the settings of my motherboard.
Nothing worked. What's up with this? Any ideas?
Thank you.

Shut down the computer and unplug
remove the button cell battery from the motherboard
let it sit for 5-10min
the put the battery back in and boot the computer back up.
This will reset all of your bios settings.

Actually, there is a CLEAR CMOS button on the back of my motherboard so I turned off my PC and hit the button. Upon turning it back on, it took me directly to the BIOS, prompting me to configure the settings, since they have been reset.

Still didn't work though.

Ahh some don't have that but its a hell of a lot easier.
though that may be a bios problem with your new one can you flash back on that motherboard?

I dont think so do you still have the original driver cd that came with it? Maybe one of the power states in the bios needs to be set for that

No they are in the BIOS and are sometimes called idle states. This is kinda a shot in the dark I'm not sure if that would affect fan speed or not though it seems they could
