I am looking for a monitor to go with my new computer. I mainly surf the web, some video editing and whatch hd videos but may also hook up the ps3 to it. My budget is no more than $220. I am researching as much as I can and have some interest in the following:

Dell S2340m
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260109

HP 25xi for ...i really like looks of this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824276020

Viewsonic vx2370smh
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116581

Acer S236HLtmjj
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009514

I looked around and the only one of these that I can physically look at was the Dell s2340m. I really like the idea of the 25" HP but reviews are mixed. The Acer looks really nice but agian reviews are lacking. Any help is appreciated.

The Viewsonic is the reason why I have not purchased any of the others. From the reviews I have read, it seems pretty good.

patrick47018, That model seems very similar to the Acer I posted aside from the speakers and the styling. Do you have anymore info on that model?

Great colors, great viewing angles, if you are against a glossy monitor it's not for you, but in general glossy monitors look better than matte, I'd say go for it if you don't have a light source behind you . Also external speakers will always be better than the internal speakers of a monitor

I have found some conflicting info on the Acer H236hl. In a couple online overviews of the monitor it states it as an ah-ips panel wheras on some forum finds it is listed as e-ips. Do you know by chance which it is? I believe the Viewsonic is an ah-ips.
Open to other suggestions as well. Thanks!!
