Hi guys, longtime lurking but cannot find the answer to my question...

Here it goes: I have a dinosaur of a desktop PC but it has always worked (gaming) no matter what I did to it so I have a hard time saying goodbye. I recently upgraded the system, don't laugh, here are the specs:

OS: 7 Home premium
Asus A8R-MVP mobo socket 939
AMD FX-60 cpu
4Gb HyperX ddr1 400
2x HD2900XT in crossfire mode

Now my question is...did I make the right choice on GPU's...I know this stuff is ancient but then again 'upgrading' was relatively cheap. Anyway, on the crossfire charts the 480X chip ( a 100 years ago it was called Crossfire 200) shows up until the HD4870 and then disappears, I assume you cannot run newer cards in Crossfire with this chip?

On top of that, with a 4870 it's recommended to have 6GB of ram which my mobo doesn't support... and I think it won't make much difference with the CPU I have....right?
