Ok i have an a acer predator g3620 and my all rating is 5.9 i have 7.5 from 7.9 cpu 7.7 ram 6.9 graphics (i will change it to gtx 770) and my hard disk is 5.9 why? its one tb one of mine friends got an very old laptop wich rating is 2.9 and his hard disk rating is 5.8 why mine is so low?

Solution
All HDD systems will rate at 5.9 if it is a 7200 RPM drive. Lower if it is a 5400 RPM drive. The WEI simply takes the lowest rating for their final result. No one goes by that number anyway.

It is true the max a mechanical drive can get by itself is 5.9. The only way to exceed it is either using an SSD or by running the benchmark with a caching application running in the background (like Primocache). I was able to get a 6.2 on my computer using the latter as I don't have an SSD. Not that it matters to much but thats all that can be done without an SSD if you really want a higher score.

I have seen a SAS 15k raid 0 hit 6.1. But SSD is the way to go.

Like they've said, only way around it really is by getting an SSD and making it your primary drive (the one WEI uses for it's rating) which is a bit more complicated than you'd expect. My OS is on an SSD and it still takes the rating from my hard drive.

A HDD faster than 7200 rpm should raise the score for storage a bit, yes. But the most common HDD for desktops is 7200 rpm.

I must say, if you play league, clan vs clan, Battlefield 3/4 multiplayer, SW: ToR, LoL, WoW, Skyrim, and many more I can't think of, it makes a big difference.

I get a great rush in CoD, all because 80% of the players load slower then myself.

I get into the AA and scout heli etc. Faster and first because of the SSD.

Skyrim load screens, nearly gone.

SSD's are a awesome investment.

Same here. Raid 0 never sped up a thing for me either.
