I was trying to build my pc. I was trying to put my balilistix sport 2x4 ddr3 ram into asus m5a97 r 2.0. It won't go far enough for sides to go down? They are suppost to be compatible the guy at microcenter assured me what do I do I am putting it in the right way

Solution
Make sure the white retaining clips at each end of the slot are pulled back all the way.

Make sure you are holding the RAM module the right way round so that the offset notch on the module's edge-connector
matches the solid notch in the slot.

Push down evenly and firmly until you see the white retaining clips automatically close over the ends of the module.
You may need to finish the job by gently pushing each clip inwards (both at same time) until you here a click.
