Is this graphics card compatible with my motherboard

I have an older computer that was using an Nvidia GeForce 8600GT graphics card. It has died and I am trying to replace it. Will an Nvidia Quadro K600 be compatible...

I have an Intel motherboard model DG33TL with an Intel E6750 processor.

A 450w power supply...

I would go for a newer geforce GTX card. Maybe a 650ti or 750ti.

yes it is very compatible and only consumes 41w so you will be more than fine there, may i ask how much you are getting it for and why you went with the Quadro® K600

it does if it is dependent on vram. if it is not a performance based app and just uses vram they make 2gb and 4gb cards now on the lower side to give you some better wiggle room, the quadro is 1gb.

as i do not know to much on perfomance based ratio between geforce and quadro i will give you a link on a site to see all these types of graphic cards at the lowest possible price

i would use ccleaner to get rid of the original drivers and then instal the quadro and go to nvidias site to get the latest drivers for it, it is most likely what is causing this to happen

I ran ccleaner, shut down, installed the card and stopped at the same spot... Do I need to uninstall the Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family or could it be the Intel GMA driver? All of the old Nvidia drivers are gone.

try going to nvidias site and download the quadros drivers after you have them installed shutdown install quadro and startup should work, and do you have your display cable attached to the graphics card when booting?

Yes, I move it from the motherboard to the card after I install the card... I tried to download the driver from Nvidia earlier but it wouldn't let me because it couldn't find a Nvidia card installed on the computer, is there a way around this? The CD that came with the card did the same thing...

ok try this install the card but dont move the display cable form the mobo i/o go to nvidia site download drivers, install, shutdown, put card in, attach display cable to card, reboot hopefully you will be good

Sorry to be such a pain, I get nothing if I install the card and leave the monitor plugged into the mobo, the hard drive is working but there is nothing on the display... Grrrr

you might have to do a fresh install of windows, do you have a different pcie slot you can put the quadro in?

no prob and if you can see if you can try to use the 8600 on a friends sytem if you can to see if it really died or iwas your mobo slot
