Does this build seem "Future proof"

I sure hope so, since I just ordered all the parts. This will be my first time building my own computer. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated!

Now I am looking for a monitor to top off my rig. In the name of "future proofing", would I be better off with a 1440p, or a 120hz? Is it possible to have both in the same monitor? I am looking for a minimum 27 inch monitor btw.

Thanks.

there is no system that is ever going to be future proof due to how often new components and parts hit the market. however a build could last several years depending on usage. IE if its web-browsing and movie/music streaming, you could do fine with a sub$500 build. games/High-end video/photo editing, would be between $1000 and $2000.

So in short it is all dependent on usage and how much you want to spend.

Your build is good and will be able to handle pretty much every game on ultra.

I have a monitor recommendation for you if you are interested;

Monitor: Asus VG278

Size: 27"

Refresh Rate: 144 Hz

Resolution: 1920x1080

Response time: 2 ms

Contrast: 5.000.000:1

I own that monitor and I must say. It's amazing. Best monitor I've ever seen.

My desk isn't big enough. I guess I'll have to add that to my list.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I at least have a place to start my research for various monitors now.

Is that the VG278HE model, which I believe is the 3d ready model?

It is 3D ready.

I own the VG278HR. Which has a built-in 3D sensor for your glasses.

And the glasses do include with the VG278HR.

You're aware that 120 Mhz is equal to 120000000 Hz, right?
