Hi,

I'm using a dell inspiron 17r with 8 gb of ram and windows 8.1 64-bit.

I am recently getting the same error over and over again. it states that my memory is full, but when i go to taskmanager it says only 60% is in use. Iam only getting the error when playing a game like bioshock, but even cs:go!
I already have did several virus scans and they all came out empty. The first time i got the error i ignored it after 10 min i got a bsod. after that i did the virus scans and still getting the errors but no bsod.
My fan is making more sound than normal (normally you won't hear it). I'm alittle out of options, maybe reinstall windows? ore is it a hardware issue?

Does sombody knows what i should do?

Solution
You can use a program called process explorer and it will provide you a very detailed view of what's consuming every type of memory on your system. I don't remember if Pooled and Paged Pool memory counters are enabled by default so you may have to turn that feature on. This program has a lot of monitoring options and features so it may confuse you if you aren't familiar with some of the information it provides. Just so you know unlike RAM programs will only normally use a small amount of memory but the total amount of memory for paged and nonpaged is very tiny by comparison.

I'm not trying to over complicate things and I am only assuming it may be paged or nonpaged memory issue since you mentioned before your RAM was only 60% consumed...

Running out of memory doesn't always refer to your RAM. You could have a memory leak so you may need to look at your paged pool and nonpage pool memory.

Exactly, but the program I mentioned will work as a temporary fix.

oke, im sorry to ask - but how do i do this?

Download & install Glary utilities. After starting it up go to advanced tools>system tweaks>free up memory and a new window will open up. Click the options tab and make sure 'enable auto optimization' is checked. Then set 'ONLY optimize if CPU usage is below' to 100%. Check 'load automatically on Windows startup' if you want it to do that. Then hit OK. You should now be able to run everything even if you have a memory leak.

Take a look at the links I provide before it may help you with figuring out things.
