The 2600k is still a very competitive CPU by today's standards. The performance improvements from Sandy Bridge to Haswell have been incremental, and add to that the overclocking capabilities of your CPU, you're good to go.

your cpu is fine. i have a 2500k @4ghz and it runs well. Though i "only" have a 670. Temperature wise, sandy is better than newer ones if im not mistaken
