I'm repairing a prebuilt pc and the case was rusty so when I was sanding it I accidentally sanded one of the motherboard standoffs. They are those preformed standoffs should I insulate the board from it or will it be fine? I was also thinking of removing the standoff but I think that's out of the question. Please help me!

go to your local hardware store and buy a rubber washer and put it in place of the stand off. you will want to get 2 of them one for top and the other for the bottom or you could see if they have any brass fittings that would fit.

Can we get a pic? Cause if the standoff is removed enough or exposing metal I'd be wary.

you could try soldiering it place its not a high torque situation its not likely to be moved or have any undue stress.

Motherboard standoffs are usually metal. They ground the motherboard to the case.
They also raise the motherboard above the motherboard tray so the underside does not touch metal and short out.
Not all of the motherboard standoffs are really needed.
I would not worry much if you are missing one.
A full ATX motherboard will have 9.
Only if the missing standoff makes the motherboard flex dangerously would I bother to do much.
