BACK UP YOUR DATA IMMEDIATELY if it is defaulting to safe mode their could be other problems including with your hard drive so first things first back up anything important

The problem is caused because the LCD is broken and screen wont work, while the computer does POST test it finds there is no working so it stops, I have to tell it to go into safe mode to get it to start, I want it to recognise the external monitor while doing the post test

is that through hitting F8 on boot? or does safe mode boot if you power on, and touch nothing? Try hitting f8 to find the boot normally option
