I've been trying to find myself a FTP client for CentOS that I can set up to download only changed files, on a hour interval. I'm not sure if this is possible at all, but considering most Windows FTP clients I've had I get promoted with a warning "Do you want to overwrite this file?", usually with an option "Only newer files", I think this much also be achievable with Windows.

I just googled the settings for VSFTPd, but I can't seem to find any parameters that allow me to do this. Is there a particular FTP client out there that meets my requirements or am I just missing something on VSFTPd?

VSFTPd is a server daemon, and it returns the informatin (incl. date/time stamps) to the client, so it is up to your client software (being it Windows or Linux) to check the dates of files being downloaded.

I googled for "CentOS ftp client download files newer than local", has all terms that I require in it, didn't come up with anything.

Way too specific. Always start general and narrow down as necessary.
