I just installed it a couple of hours ago and was burning it in for about half an hour, but the temps are almost worrying. (Large FFTs test made it worse, temps hit 90 and I decided to stop doing it in favor of the blend test right away) The 4670k is currently fully on default settings, no overclock. Are these normal temps for the cooler? Thanks for any advice.

Those temps are worse than even the stock cooler.
Can you verify that the pump is running and that the fan is running?
I suspect you have a defective cooler or it is not installed properly.

I do not much like all in one liquid coolers when a good air cooler can do the job.
A liquid cooler will be expensive, noisy, less reliable, and will not cool any better
in a well ventilated case.
Liquid cooling is really air cooling, it just puts the heat exchange in a different place.
The orientation of the radiator will cause a problem.
If you orient it to take in cool air from the outside, you will cool the cpu better, but the hot air then circulates inside the case heating up the graphics card and motherboard.
If you orient it to exhaust(which I think is better) , then your cpu cooling will be less effective because it uses pre heated case air.
And... I have read too many tales of woe when a liquid cooler leaks.
google "H100 leak"

Dang, running pretty hot, very similar to my issue.
What motherboard are you using.

My issue was the capacitors next to the socket were giving the cooler base am offset.
Didn't have full contact.
Try this, remove all thermal paste.
-Apply a very thin, evenly spread layer to cooler base and not CPU
- reseat, screw cooler back in
- remove cooler and check surface area coverage on CPU
- if you haven't got full coverage, issue is with seating.
- my personal fix was replacing with a cooler than had an offset on the bottom.

CM 120V temps = 35 @ idle, 98 @ load (prime95)
Zahan 3 ultimate = 30 @ idle, 68 @ load (prime95)

Hello! How can you ask something like this???! Of course the man knows what is he doing, even a 12 year kid knows!!!

I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS COOLER,,,, A VERY WELL PRESENTED COOLER MASTER 120V ON THE WEB!!!!
WHAT I HAVE : i5 2500K STOCK, AT 3.7 GHZ TURBO BOOST 98C !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WITH MY OLD COOLER, SCYTHE NINJA 3 I HAD 73C, AND I THOUGHT THIS IS TOO HIGH.... VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED....CM...JOKE..

P.S. - FOR THOSE WHO THINK THEY HAVE THE SUPERIOR KNOWLEDGE,,, I USED THE CM TERMO PASTE. AND FAN+PUMP ARE SET ON 100%....SO ITS OK FOR YOU?

ANYONE HAS A VALID EXPLANATION?
