Can you run say a dedicated 770 Nvidia gpu with a cheap other gpu?

I just need another vga port for another monitor and i really dont want to spend another 300$ on another 770 just to use another monitor. hdmi is out of question. Can you do this?

Of course i wouldnt be gaming or anything on it, itd be browsing / desktop using that monitor.

More about : dual gpus

Yes you can run two video cards with no issues.

Is there a reason you can't use a DVI or DP to VGA adapter? Seems like that would be the cheapest solution.

Doesn't your 770 have 4 outputs? 2xDVI 1xDP and a HDMI? The HDMI won't play well with VGA but the other two do.

running 1 other monitor #3 will work all together?. By together i mean display. this monitor will only be browsing / desktop. But all should work ?

you can run pretty much anything you want to, as long as you don't try to connect sli. Although I would give thoughts to getting a decent card as secondary and running the 2 alternate monitors from that, freeing up your 770 to run as main, alleviating the performance hit you are dealing with now running multi-monitors.

Why not this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
the 770 can run 4 monitors on its own. No reason to get another GPU that will take more power to run, when it can already run a 3rd/4th monitor.

EDIT
If you insist man. Yeah that card will work fine if your PSU has enough power left over.

Good point, ill look into this setup. Just needed to know it would work driver wise / there wouldnt be issues between the two.
