I have a windows xp and when turning on my computer is keeps asking for a system disk and to press enter. my question is 1, I have this Dantz Retrospect Express backup 7.0 for optical drive storage. I am wondering if this is the disk they asking for if not what does this disk go to. 2 where can iIget the correct disk, 3. will this reset my computer to factory reset. I need to get some file off before I do a fatory reset.

That disk is a backup program, which hopefully you were using to save your data to another drive so if it happens that your hard drive is dead, you will have backups.

If you check the BIOS for the boot order, make sure the drive is seen and still can't boot, you can get a restore disk from the PC vendor, or...
Hello... Have you checked your boot order in your BIO's? An older computer has a battery that can get too low to save your prefer'd BOOTUP settings... and thus it is tryng to Boot from some where else than your Hardrive, with your WindowsXP OS and files are.
Also you can take your Hardrive out and HOOK IT UP, into another computer for your Files, and save them somewhere else.

Check these things first before trying anything with a OS system Disk/CD re-boot or load.

If you check the BIOS for the boot order, make sure the drive is seen and still can't boot, you can get a restore disk from the PC vendor, or look around for an XP OEM disk for the version you have a license key for. That key should be on the computer if it's a pre-built system. You can always get a new hard drive and keep your current one to copy the files back, which is what I recommend doing so you don't end up with things missing.
