Is my PSU top or bottom mounted?

I'm going to be building a computer soon and want to know if a Corsair RM750 PSU will fit inside a CiT Vantage case. The case has a top mounted PSU slot, but I'm not sure if the PSU will fit at the top. Will it work, or should I get a case with a bottom mounted PSU slot?

Any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

Yep it will fit fine. Two extra fans would include a side panel fan? The side panel fan fitting will most likely depend on the height of your CPU cooler. A big aftermarket cooler might interfere. A smaller cooler or stock cooling and it should fit fine.

Glad to help! :)

The Corsair RM 750 is the first Corsair unit to completely fail in testing. It should be avoided. None of the new Corsair units are impressive at all and you can do much better for cheaper.

Do you really need 750 watts? 2 x mid tier graphics cards in Sli or Crossfire? Requirements here:

Any Seasonic or XFX ( all Seasonic made ) will be vastly superior to any of the new CS or RM series Corsair units.

Are there any good 750w PSUs that you would recommend specifically? Either fully modular or hybrid modular. It needs the motherboard + CPU cables, 2 SATA connections, 1 6-pin and 1 8-pin connections.

Read the HardOCP review. Why would you use a unit that failed testing when you can have a unit that is electrically superior in every way? Corsair as a brand name used to mean quality in power supplies but the CX, CS and RM all use substandard capacitors. The CS and RM are also expensive. There are still very good Corsair units but they are more and more not a brand I will recommend by name just by individual unit.

As I said above do you really need 750 watts? What are you powering? I posted a link to the requirements list above.

If you do really need 750 watts you cant beat this XFX for $99. Its a rebadged Seasonic X series and one of the best units on the market. 80 Plus Gold and fully modular. The Corsair flagship AX series is also made by Seasonic and based on the X series as is the Coolermaster V series.

Review. It gets Hardwaresecrets Golden ( highest ) award.

The actual Seasonic name brand unit is $155. This unit is identical electrically. The only units better than the X series are the Seasonic Platinum series and they are just slightly revised X series units. I have the 660XP2 Platinum for my overclocked 2600k/GTX 780 setup.

This is what I am going to be using, I thought I would go with 750w to be safe, but would 650w also work?

CPU - AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8350 4.00Ghz
GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 770 Twin Frozr Gaming Edition Graphics Card
Motherboard - Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 AMD AM3+
RAM - Corsair Memory Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz Dual Channel
Hard Drive - Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB SATA 3 Hard Drive 7200rpm 64MB Cache
Optical Drive - LiteOn IHAS124-14
4 Case fans

You really only need a quality 550w unit but for future upgrades a 650w unit is sufficient for any single GPU including the R9 290X and GTX 780 Ti.

If that XFX is at $99 it still may be the best quality unit you can get for the money. At around $100 without rebate the best unit is the Seasonic G 650. It is a tiny step down from the Seasonic X platform only because they use a slightly lower quality fan and are semi modular and not fully modular like the X series.

I'm in UK and the price of that appears to be quite high here. Would this PSU work well?
XFX 650W XXX Modular 80+ Bronze
It's a hybrid modular, and looking at the pictures, the quantity of SATA slots are fine, but there are two PCIe/CPU slots on the PSU, and I need both for my graphics card. However, it also looks like there is a CPU cable in the non-modular cable, meaning I can use both of the PCIe/CPU slots for my graphics card. Is this correct, or will I need a different PSU with more PCIe/CPU slots. And if it is correct, why do they give me a CPU modular cable as well as a CPU non-modular cable?

Yes the XFX XXX edition is also a great unit. All XFX units are made by Seasonic.

8/6pin PCI-E cables are different from the 4+4 pin CPU power connector.

4+4 pin CPU power.

Now that the PSU is sorted, I have just one more question. Will my build fit inside this case with two extra fans?

Thanks for all the help!
