Hello

I am building a new pc with a FX 8350 or a i7 4930K.

I will oc them. What will be a good cooling solution? Single liquid cooler radiator, liquid dual radiator ?

Solution
Just curious, if the air cooling can work just as well, who uses liquid cooling then?
Well in most cases (don't take it as a law):
Watercooling:
Pros: Cools better, works quiter, takes less space, are loved by enthusiasts;
Cons: Cost much more (can't compare with air in price/performace), isn't 100% safe (leak chance)

Aircooling:
Pros: Much cheaper, performs good for their price, almost 100% safe;
Cons: Can't compete equally in high-end/extreme cooling, works louder, takes much space

4930k or 4770k?
air i would go with

if you are going for a high overclock i would go with closed loop water cooling 240mm solution

the air will give you around the same performance as a 120mm water cooler really depends on case airflow and voltages your using to overclock. also make sure that you have the clearance for the air coolers in you case

as for 240mm water cooling this is for higher overclock and need to make sure your case can mount it

do you even plan on overclocking?

Yes the cases I am looking at support the 240mm cooling. I do plan to overclock.

You didn't tell your budget. Whit a bunch of money you can do anything, for example this:

To be more serious, I would like to present you the best tested value cooler in the wolrd - meet Raijintek Aidos. It beats legendary 212 EVO in all ways:
1. Colder
2. Smaller
3. Cheaper
You can chooce Themis or Ereboss from the same manufacturer, which are even better by performance and still at the top py price.
Times are changing. The 212 EVO's getting old. Hail da new Raijintek Aidos.

Looking at speeding about 100 to 150 dollars on cooling.

So, what are you waiting for? :) Answer is given, take one of those Raijintek. Check the huge Nemesis version also, if you can afford. Or go with the Aidos and spend an hour with beuatiful chick. Go for it.
It's just a question of time when they'll raise prices (of coolers, not chicks), cause they're new brand, but with huge expierence. :wahoo:

Wouldnt a liquid cooling cooler be better? I will use some 3D modeling and rendering programs as well as video editing, so the machine might be on for hours while it renders.

Not necessarily so. In the second link that I posted above, Tom's tested the Noctua NH D14 against 4 water coolers and it beat almost all of them for cooling performance. Check out the performance charts in the review.

Then go with the watercooling if you want it badly. It will perform better and cost x2-4 more, depending on what we compare.

Thanks everyone I will check it all out.

I would go with the Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler but it's your choice. This liquid cooler, I think, is w=one of the best around. So I suggest getting this one.

How do you figure water cooling is quieter? It isnt in my experience. Its roughly the same loudness or slightly worse than good air cooling.
